Payout Percentages and Projected Earnings for the PGA Tour, Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open, British Open

In order to project live money earnings for PGA Tour Golf Pools the payout percentages and methodology below is used for standard PGA Tour Events, The Masters, The PGA Championship, The U.S. Open, and The Open Championship (British Open), and the European Tour (DP World Tour).

How are PGA Tour Purses Divided?
- For most PGA Tour tournaments, the top 65 players that make the cut are paid from the purse, using the pga tour payout percentages listed below. This was new for 2019-20 season. Before 2019 the top 70 golfers made the cut and earnings.
- Major golf tournaments purse payouts and cut rules are slightly different that standard PGA Tour allocations.
- The Masters cut includes the top 50 players plus ties.
- The PGA Championship cut includes the top 70 players plus ties.
- The U.S. Open cut includes the top 60 players plus ties.
- The Open Championship cut includes the top 70 players plus ties.
- If golfers are tied, they split the earnings awarded to all finishing positions from their finisihing position plus the number of golfers golfers with whom they are tied. For example, two golfers tie for second, they split the money paid out to 2nd place and 3rd place.
- Amateurs do not receive earnings. For example, if an amateur places solo 3rd, they receive $0 and the 4th place golfer receives what would normally be awared to the 3rd place golfer. All other positions below 3rd also get bumped up by a place in terms of their earnings.
- Some PGA Tour events use a different formula than the standard pga tour payout percentages table below.
- If more than 65 players make the cut then the PGA Tour will throw in some extra cash, in addition to the normal purse, to payout any player finishing beyond 65th place
- Some major tournaments, like the Masters, will pay an appearance fee to golfers that miss the cut. Historically this has been around $10,000 USD. This is not considered official money, however, and therefore is not included in projected earnings or official earnings posted for your golf pool.
- Starting in 2019, the TOUR Championship was earnings were all considered FedExCup BONUS Money and not official earnings.

2025 Masters Payouts & Purse Percentages
- The 2025 Masters purse is $21,000,000.
- The winner of the Masters will get $4,200,000.
- The 2025 Masters purse was announced on Saturday, April 12th, 2025.
- The below payout %s are used to project earnings live. These are based on analysis of the 2025 Masters Official Payouts and several online media reports for payouts.
- The Masters cut rule is to include the top 50 players plus ties.
- In 2025 53 players made the cut, so projected earnings will be included for top 53 players.
- The Masters typically pays an appearance fee to golfers that miss the cut. In 2025 this was $25,000. This is not considered official money, however, and therefore is not included in projected earnings or official earnings posted for your golf pool.
